Sunday's Long Run

Back on the road this morning for the weekly long run. It is the one that feels me with absolute dread to the point that helping 'the trousers' (adoring wife) with the painting was preferable, and believe me I absolutely hate any DIY.

Anyway I ran a similar route to the TW ½ half marathon i.e. to Langton Green, through Speldhurst and up the long hill to Southborough and then back home. All in all exactly 9 miles at a pace of 9:06mins per mile which equates to a 2:00 hour ½ marathon. Not too shabby but definitely aiming to improve to a 1:45 time. Should help if I have more than a cup of tea before I go out…

Until next time Amigos…

Running in the Snow

Braved the snow, wind and freezing conditions last night to go running as I missed one on Monday. Probably not the best idea I have had but I am a stubborn little so and so. But anyway ventured out at 8:00pm and after slipping around like Bambi on ice and nearly breaking an ankle I got into my stride.

With the snow driving in my face I imagined myself as Hillary forcing his way  to the top of Everest with sheer single minded determination, then slipped again on the snow, thought ‘sod this for a game of soldiers’, went home and drank red wine.

Until next time…
